ENR West has named Avia Labs the 2026 Northern California Best Office/Retail/Mixed-Use Project. The annual competition reviewed 131 projects across California and Hawaii, with award winners recognized for their contribution to the industry and community, safety, construction and design quality.

Located in Millbrae, California, the six-story, 315,000-square-foot life sciences facility was designed to support collaborative research and development through flexible laboratory and office environments. The building is defined by its highly glazed exterior, including floor-to-ceiling glass with integrated sunshades and punched windows framed with recessed L-shaped composite panels. Coalition Glass provided design-assist and design-build services for 56,146 square feet of facade comprised of unitized curtainwall, punched windows, glass fiber reinforced panels, and stick-built storefront systems.

In the Higher Education/Research category, California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt’s Hinarr Hu Moulik Student Housing in Arcata, California received an Award of Merit. Coalition provided procurement, fabrication, assembly and installation services for the project’s three wall types, totaling 15,655 square feet of facade.
